05/09/2017 - HS BOYS TENNIS - Hounds In SE Conf. Meet.

The FM Bloodhound boy's tennis team travelled to Fairfield Monday afternoon, May 8th to participate in the SE Conference Tournament.  The Hounds Sam Avery and Austin Krueger captured titles in the tourney that was held at the Fairfield Middle School and Maharishi School courts.  The Hounds as a team settled for a tie for third. Keokuk and Mount Pleasant shared the conference title with 17 points each. FM and Fairfield finished with 10 points each to share third.  Some match results are listed below.

Avery won at No. 3 singles by beating Elijah Parr of Fairfield 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) and downing Gavin Haner of Keokuk 7-5, 6-2.

Krueger won at No. 4 singles, topping Logan Williams of Fairfield 6-4, 6-2 and winning a marathon finals over Peyton Skender of Keokuk 6-4, 2-6, 15-13.

FM finished second at No. 2 doubles as Avery-Krueger beat Dylon Hoewing and Gage Stice of Keokuk 0-6, 6-2, 10-4, but lost to Williams-Parr of Fairfield 6-2, 6-4.

Tim Shinn came in third at No. 6 singles, and he teamed up with Conrad Hellman to finish third at No. 3 doubles.
